Today I had my first class as a teaching artist with The Shadow Box Theatre. I'm spending the next 14 weeks teaching puppetry to a class of autistic high school students at PS373

It was exciting to meet them. They're all so different and engage in their own way. I anticipate that the class is going to be challenging and rewarding. Already, I was witnessing flickers of excitement and engagement with the puppets. Most of the students are non-verbal so I'm going to learn a lot about communicating with them. I'm super excited to go on this journey with them.
