I just spent a wonderful week as a participant in the Professional Development workshop with Lincoln Center’s Big Umbrella Festival.
The Festival is a brand new festival that presents work from around the world created specifically for children on the autism spectrum and their families. There were companies from NYC, England, and Australia all presenting work side by side.
I was lucky to be chosen to participate in the artist professional development. The group was made up of folks from all around the world, all with a passion for creating work for neuro-diverse audiences. It was a wonderful week of viewing, making, thinking, and discussing. I definitely have walked away from the week with a massive amount to consider when making work for any type of audience!
