It’s been very fun to consult on the NYU grad acting production of a Midsummer Night’s Dream. They decided to use a puppet as the Changeling Boy and I came in to help the actors learn how to operate the puppet.
Bill's big Edinburgh adventure!
What a wonderful time! We just spent a month performing “Bill’s 44th” at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
The festival is amazing and they embraced our show and Bill with open arms. Through word of mouth we sold out our run at Underbelly and got a ton of glowing reviews!
Development for "The Wizard of Oz"
I was invited in to a fun and whimsical couple of days development puppetry under the guidance of Emma Wiseman for The Geva Theater Center’s production of “The Wizard of Oz”. We played with lots of fun ideas like munchkins played by shoe puppets, clothesline puppetry, and more!
It’ll be exciting to see what ideas make it in to the final show!
"Taylor is Lonely" workshop
We had a wonderful week of development at The New Victory theatre for nicHi douglas’ new piece for very young kids called “Taylor is Lonely”. I built the puppet of Taylor and the amazing Andrew Butler wrote music. We had a great time figuring out what the piece could be which culminated in a little presentation with a test audience of children.
demons
What an amazing time it has been serving as the Director of Puppetry for Keelay Gipson’s new play “demons.”
This play is an extraordinary coming together of writing, acting, theater, and puppetry. I’ve been so happy to be a collaborator on this from the start, including two weeks of development at New York Stage and Film.
Our puppet team was small but mighty with a puppet built by Cedwan Hooks and a puppet/acting performance given by Joseph Lymous. ‘I’m very proud of our work and I hope there’s more demons. to come!
Here’s some nice little bits from our reviews:
“When Danily, a red-furred, purple-lipped beast, appears onstage, his giant eyelids fluttering and huge maw flapping, he is irresistibly adorable, like something from Jim Henson’s dreams. And did I mention he’s a demon? In “Demons,” presented by Bushwick Starr at the Connelly Theater, a family grieving the recent death of its complicated patriarch becomes the target of a haunting by a puppet ghoul, the unexpected star” Maya Philips - NYTimes
“And then there’s the puppet. Cedwan Hooks’s design for Danily is simultaneously ridiculous and adorable, something you might see in a pharmaceutical ad. Demons got you down? Ask your doctor about Exorcipro. There’s nothing scary about him in the slightest, and as played by Lymous, we get the sense of a demon who is not entirely comfortable in his own fur (admirably restrained puppet direction by Jon Riddleberger). Gipson leaves a lot of unanswered question around Danily and his dad, and Lymous makes us want to know more. Danily should have a series on Netflix.” Zachary Stewart - TheaterMania (Full Review Here)
The show was produced by The Bushwick Starr at The Connelly Theater from May 16th-June 10th.

Building Taylor!
I’m very excited to be building a puppet for nicHi Douglas’ new show “Taylor is Lonely”. The show is a commission for The New Victory Theater and it will be a highly interactive show for 2 and 3 year olds. I’m in the midst of building a prototype and we will have a workshop in June. More info to come!
Ulisse in Hong Kong
It’s the show that keeps going! I just got back from 10 days in Hong Kong with Handspring Puppet Company and William Kentridge’s “Il Ritorno D’Ulisse”. We’ve been doing the show since 2016 and it’s always such a pleasure to return to it again!
Hello Tomorrow! is here today!
It’s finally here!
Catch all the retro future shenanigans in this new series from Apple TV+
I spent four months puppeteering and serving as a puppet captain for the robots that populate the world of the show.
Bill at the Barbican!
Bill just had a great birthday in London at the Barbican Center as a part of the London Mime Festival. We had a sold out run with a very enthusiastic audience
We were even nominated for two awards! The Offies have nominated us in their devised theater category for “Best IDEA Production” and “Best Performance”!

David Yurman and the Lunar New Year Bunnies
I had a funky gig coaching some amazing models for a David Yurman fashion shoot. The campaign was for the Lunar New Year and they wanted the models to make shadow puppet rabbits. So I came in to help them learn how to make the shadows and help the creative team figure out what was possible. Check out some of the images and videos below:
